Artist Statement
I look for the marginalia in life – the small yet gripping moments etched on the edges of our line of sight. The most moving moments are the most overlooked ones. A seemingly average shadow cast on a wall someone painted, a streak of light through a window someone neglected to wash, or a discarded object someone turned from treasure into detritus reminds me of how we are both isolated yet connected at the same time. Those quiet moments on the margins, where I am most comfortable, are the signs of our shared experience. I carry my camera with me to find these signs and document them in order to feel more connected in my introversion. I hope my pieces inspire people to find comfort and camaraderie, if not beauty, in the simple.
